New Blogger

I'm tickled to join our online quilting community!

As many of you know, Kathy and her family are moving to Ontario - this will leave a huge void in our group. While we are happy to see their family thrive, we are sad to see her go .... I have volunteered to assist with blog and I hope to do it justice. Please feel free to contact me with any ideas, pictures or events you care to share.

June 2017 Meeting Highlights

We had a very productive day and finished our Homecoming quilt that we donated to the Homecoming committee to use as they see fit.   We also started on our Dogs in Sweaters quilt that will be one of our next Christmas Raffle quilts in November.

The second Christmas Raffle quilt, Bjorn Bears is all cut and and ready to start next month.  The binding was put on the CQA quilt for Ronald McDonald house and the Flannel quilt for our next Quilt Show.

The quilt for the Cranberry Fire Department was also finished and donated.

The Orange Peel Comfort blocks are coming in and look great!

Our evening program was Cathedral Windows by Sheri.  She shared a YouTube video by Missouri  Star Quilt Company on the technique.  Here is the link to the video.

Sheri also volunteers to take over the blog so she will be posted next month!  Thank you Sheri!

I have now stepped down as Guild President and passed the torch to Audrey.     I said I would add a link to a great online shop that sells Superior Threads so you will not be without So Fine thread.  Cotton Mill Threadworks.

I'll be bringing all my Stonehenge Wide Backing next month, I have 8 colours, to sell if anyone is interested in stocking up on backings.  Check all those finished top stashed under your bed and see if any of them might look great with Stonehenge on the back!

Now to Show and Tell!

Happy Stitching!

May 2017 Meeting Highlights

The May evening meeting had 34 members present and the Orange Peel Comfort blocks are starting to come in!   During the day we basted two quilt tops and pieced two quilt tops.  The Maple Leaf quilt has been quilted by Phyl and ready to find a home.

The evening program was demonstrated by Eileen and she showed us the Bloc Loc rulers.

We also had a special event in the afternoon that day, Sheri's Baby Shower.  Darby was such a good baby during the shower and many of us were able to enjoy some baby cuddles!

We sure did spoil Darby didn't we!

Okay now back to quilting!

Here was our evening meetings Show and Tell!  We had a lot to share this month.

That was a very impressive Show and Tell this month.

So by now many of you have heard that I am moving this summer and will be stepping down as President of the guild at the end of the June meeting.  Audrey will be ready to step into the role of President in July and I know our membership will help us with the change.   We will need someone to take over the blog post so if you are interested in this simple job please let me know and I can show you how it is done.

Happy Stitching
Kathy
